Hard to Soft Interfaces using Bio-inspired Design
Bio-inspired hard-soft interfaces by mimicking biological interfaces and offering multi-functional design
Biological materials exhibit complex structure–property relationships through their hierarchical organization. Our group focus on understanding the interface of native biological materials and harnessing these design strategies to develop biomimetic, bioinspired, and bio-enabled materials. These chimeric peptides are engineered to have peptide domains that can self-assemble on material surfaces while incorporating an additional bioactive domain. Our design includes to incorporate different spacer sequences in between these chimeric domains to have both functionality to be presented at the site effectively.
